The author is a PhD Research Scholar under the guidance of Prof. Onkargouda Kakade in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Akkamahadevi Women’s University, Vijayapura, Karnataka. The core area of her study is women empowerment and mass media and her Ph.D. topic is “The Role of Kannada News Papers in Women Empowerment: An Analytical Study”. She has 1 year teaching experience as a full time guest lecturer in K.L.E. Society’s SCP Arts & DDS Commerce college Mahalingpur Karnataka State. She also edited the college’s ‘Chennagiri’ fourth nightly newspaper. She has presented Four National Research paper and attended 14 workshops. She has to her credit five Research papers published in reputed International and National Journals. She has 12 Articles (Write Travel, health and lifestyle, Festivals) published in various Kannada Daily Newspapers.
