Akshay Revekar

<strong>Name of Scholar: </strong>Akshay Revekar<br><strong>Brief About Scholar: </strong>Mr. Akshay Revekar is an academician, practicing architect and urban planner. He is registered architect from Council of Architecture (CoA) New Delhi and owns associate membership from Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI). He has done his B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (A Grant Aided UGC Autonomous Institute). He also pursued his M. Plan. (Master of Planning) specialization in Urban Planning from School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi, An “Institution of National Importance” under an act of Parliament (Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India). He has more than four years of teaching and industry experience.

Mr. Akshay was operated under the auspices of Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) Hyderabad and Housing & Urban Development Department, Govt. of Odisha. He was stationed at Puriâ€"Konark Development Authority (PKDA) and Puri Municipality at Puri, Odisha. He had assigned two verticals under Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) including Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) and Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) for Puri-Konark cluster. During his tenure he has prepared intelligent maps and site plans with the help of various architectural and physical planning software i.e. GIS, AutoCAD, ERDAS, Arc Map, etc. Also did feasibility analysis of maps ranging from district level to individual ward or slum pockets level and prepared a proposal report.

He has done his M. Plan. Internship in National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), New Delhi, under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. Appointed as Research Associate in NIUA, he shouldered responsibilities of managing national workshops on solid waste management under “Swachha Bharat Mission” for various ULB officials at New Delhi. He coordinated with ULB officials and directorates of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram states during his tenure in NIUA.

Currently, he is working as assistant professor in Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture & Design at Symbiosis International University, Nagpur. He has also worked as assistant professor in Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He has a diverse field experience of architectural and planning industry with key impetus on urban housing.
